Academics
KINDERGARTEN
Your four-year-old child can learn to read and write independently! Beginning with letter sounds, students progress to reading words, sentences, and stories in their own reading books. Learning to recognize and understand number concepts are also part of our K4 academic program. Students learn to count from 1 to 100, distinguish before and after-numbers, and solve simple combinations. Daily games and activities are integrated within each subject so that each day is an exciting time in each child’s life. Bible time is a favorite for many students as they listen to Bible stories, sing songs of praise, and learn God’s Word—all of which emphasize God’s great love for each child.Children turning four by October 1 are eligible for K4; children turning five by October 1 are eligible for K5. Elementary and Secondary education programs are also available.
ELEMENTARY
Throughout the elementary years, CBA students improve their reading comprehension and vocabulary knowledge as they learn and review the fundamentals of phonics. Using an exceptional reading program, teachers encourage your child not only to learn to read, but also to enjoy it! Reading skills are practiced and strengthened through activity time for lower elementary grades and through science, history, and health for grades 3 and above. Critical thinking is also emphasized in practical subjects such as math, language arts, and Bible. Academics and character development are reinforced in a group setting as students enjoy learning patriotic, traditional, and fun songs in class. Dedicated teachers model a love for God’s Word and a desire to do right. Students develop spiritual awareness through memorizing Scripture, listening to Bible stories, and singing traditional hymns and modern choruses. As your children grow, they will be encouraged to think critically and influence the world around them by applying Bible principles to every subject.
SECONDARY
CBA junior high and high school students prepare for college by focusing on core subject skills supplemented by practical elective courses. The academic offerings and daily schedule in grades 7–8 serve as a key transition from elementary to high school. All CBA high school students enter a liberal arts college preparatory program of study. This program prepares students for post-secondary education by focusing on core subject skills supplemented by practical elective courses. Extensive training in grammar, literature, and composition, gives students a taste of academic rigor seen on the college level.
